Express Entry Program: Outlook for first Week of September

The 17th Express Entry draws for PNP candidates, since the beginning of the year, sends out 635 invitations.

Canada holds new Express Entry draw for PNP candidates

IRCC holds 17th Express Entry draws for PNP candidates since the start of the year and issues 635 invitations

The month of September began with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holding a draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

In total, the September 1, 2021 draw resulted in 635 immigration candidates receiving Invitations to Apply (ITA) from IRCC. To be eligible for the draw, candidates were required to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of 764 or higher.

Since the selected candidates had previously received a provincial nomination, they were automatically awarded 600 points on top of their existing CRS score. This means each candidates’ original score was as low as 164!

For administrative purposes, IRCC always publishes a cut off time in case there is a tie between two or more profiles. The cut off time for this draw was April 12, 2021 at 12:21:45 UTC. Any profiles submitted after this time were not considered.

Candidates who received an invitation will have to submit their application for permanent residency within 60 days.

Since the start of 2021, IRCC has been issuing invitations almost exclusively to PNP and Canadian Experience Class(CEC) candidates only, since the majority of these candidates are already residing in Canada. Thus there are no landing complications.

To date, a total of 106,414 ITAs have been issued by IRCC.
