During the past week ten months, a total of 110,000 invitations have been issued through twenty PNP draws. The last PNP draw was held exactly two weeks ago and resulted in 761 invitations being issued to candidates with scores of 742.
New draw held by IRCC for PNP candidates
Twenty PNP specific draws held by Canada over the last ten months; over 110,000 invitations issued
The draw was held specifically for candidates who had previously received a provincial nomination.
Because candidates with provincial nominations are automatically given 600 points upon approval, the original CRS score for each candidate was actually only 120 or higher.
The last PNP draw was held exactly two weeks ago and resulted in 761 invitations being issued to candidates with scores of 742. This draw was a smaller one in comparison and also had a lower CRS requirement. This implies the pool has fewer PNP candidates with high scores so they are lowering the requirements.
All through this year, IRCC has been holding Express Entry draws for PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates only. This was a strategic decision due to the pandemic related travel restrictions and border closures.
With a little over two months left in the year, IRCC is not likely to change course or strategies, and the department will likely continue holding PNP and CEC only draws.
This is the 20th draw to be held this year and brings the total number of invitations issued to Express Entry candidates to 110,377.
