IRCC holds biggest PNP draw ever
With less than a month to go in 2021, Canada invites over 1,000 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency
December 10, 2021 saw Canada holding a new Express Entry draw for PNP candidates. The largest one ever.
The draw resulted in a total of 1,032 Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of 698, receiving invitations.
The cut-off was fairly high since the candidates who were invited had successfully received a provincial nomination. The nomination resulted in candidates being awarded an additional 600 points on their existing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
The Express Entry system was launched in 2015. In the last six years, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) has held 38 PNP-specific draws.
For most of these draws, IRCC issued less than a thousand invitations. The only exception was for the draw held on June 23, 2021 when 1,002 PNP candidates were invited.
Since September of this year, IRCC stopped holding Canadian Experience Class draws and started focusing solely on PNP candidates.
This draw marks the seventh one to be held in a row.
The total number of candidates to receive invitations through PNP draws currently stands at 18,817.
