The draws held in the third week of December 2021 have reached a number of approximately 500 issued invitations in total.

71 invitations issued in new tech draw held in BC

Almost 12,000 immigration candidates receive invitations from British Columbia through weekly draws

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held a new draw on December 14, 2021, for tech workers.

A total of 71 qualified candidates were selected from the Skills Immigration and Express Entry B.C. streams.

They were selected specifically from the following subcategories:

  • Skilled Worker
  • International Graduate

In order to be eligible for the draw, candidates were required to meet a minimum provincial score of 80 across all streams and subcategories. The provincial score is based on the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Aside from meeting the scoring requirement, candidates also had to show they have valid job offers in one of the province’s 29 eligible tech occupations. The job offer has to be for a full-time position, be valid for a period of at least one year, and has to have at least 120 days remaining on it from the time of application.

Candidates now have 30 calendar days to submit their completed applications for a provincial nomination.

Since the start of 2021, British Columbia has been holding weekly PNP draws and the draws have resulted in over 12,000 invitations being issued by the province.

PEI holds last PNP draw of 2021

The province issued invitations to 125 immigration candidates in its last scheduled draw of the year

Since the beginning of this year, Prince Edward Island has been holding scheduled monthly draws.

The draw for the month of December was held on December 16, 2021, and resulted in 124 eligible candidates receiving invitations from the  Prince Edward Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).

The bulk of the invitations (114) went to candidates in Express Entry and Labour Impact streams. Candidates with a provincial score of 67 or higher, in the Business Impact stream, received the remaining 11 invitations.

Individuals who are interested in PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category need to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP. Candidate profiles are evaluated and given a provincial score. The highest-ranked individuals are selected during draws.

PEI PNP puts out a schedule in advance for their PNP draws and this was the final scheduled draw for 2021. A total of 1,804 candidates received invitations through these draws. Out of these, only 157 went to candidates from the Business Impact stream. The rest were issued under the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams.

The province has not yet released a draw schedule for 2022. It will likely come out before the end of this year or early next year.

New PNP draw held in Manitoba: 349 invitations issued

Over 10,000 immigration candidates have received invitations from the province to date this year

Manitoba held a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on December 16, 2021, and invited 349 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.

In order to qualify for the MPNP, hopeful applicants were required to create and register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP and meet the score requirements.

For this draw, two of the three streams required a minimum EOI. The Education Stream was exempt.

Out of these invitations, or Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), 64 went to candidates with valid profiles in the Express Entry system.

Selected candidates can now submit their application for a provincial nomination. If the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) approves their application, candidates will be awarded an additional 600 points on their existing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

This boost in points will be a near guarantee the candidates will be selected by IRCC in their rounds of invitations in 2022.  Throughout 2021, Manitoba has been holding regular draws and to date, the province has issued 10,786 invitations.
