Prince Edward Island seems to have already planned out its PNP draws for the year of 2022.
PNP draw schedule for 2022 released by Prince Edward Island
Last year’s draw pattern will be followed by PEI in 2022 as they publicly release their draw schedule
Unlike the other Canadian provinces, Prince Edward Island plans out its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws for the entire year.
It’s the only province that establishes and releases its draw schedule in advance. The only year when the established schedule was not followed was in 2020 when everything came to a standstill due to the pandemic.
According to the schedule, 12 draws will be held by the Prince Edward Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) this year.
Candidates will be selected under one of three categories:
- Express Entry;
- Labor Impact;
- Business Impact.
While the dates are not set in stone and may be modified if the need arises, the anticipated draw schedule is as follows:
- January 20, 2022
- February 17, 2022
- March 17, 2022
- April 21, 2022
- May 19, 2022
- June 16, 2022
- July 21, 2022
- August 18, 2022
- September 15, 2022
- October 20, 2022
- November 17, 2022
- December 15, 2022
Last year, the province issued invitations to a total of 1,804 immigration candidates. Of these, 1,697 invitations (the bulk) went to candidates from the Express Entry and Labor Impact streams.
The remaining 157 went to candidates in the Business Impact stream. Details from each draw will be published on CICWeekly after they take place.
