Details in Alberta’s January PNP draw released
Express Entry candidates with scores as low as 346 are eligible in province’s latest PNP draw
On January 18, 2022, the province of Alberta held a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, the details of which have just been released.
During this draw, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) invited 350 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. To be eligible for the draw, candidates had to meet a minimum a Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of 346.
Selected candidates may be eligible under the Alberta Express Entry stream and if they are successful, they will be one step closer to receiving their Canadian permanent residency as they will be eligible for an invitation from IRCC.
To be eligible for this stream, candidates must demonstrate they have work experience in an occupation that supports the province’s economic growth. Some occupations that are considered under this stream include truck drivers, cooks, food service supervisors, etc. Due to a high volume of applications, the processing time is longer than it used to be.
Once a candidate determines they meet the initial eligibility criteria, they need to create an Expression of Interest (EOI) and wait to receive a Notification of Intent (NOI) letter from the AINP.
At that point, they can indicate their interest in the Express Entry stream and wait for an invitation.
