A total of 924 Express Entry candidates received Invitations to Apply for permanent residency.
Canada holds sixth Express Entry draw of 2022
IRCC’s newest draw sees 924 PNP candidates getting one step closer to permanent residency
This year’s sixth Express Entry draw, targeting Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates was held on March 16, 2022.
Immigration candidates who have previously received a provincial nomination were eligible for the draw.
The draw resulted in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issuing Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to 924 candidates. This is lower than the number of candidates selected during the previous round of invitations.
In order to qualify for the draw, eligible candidates were required to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of 754. Since a provincial nominee is awarded an automatic 600 points on their existing CRS score, the actual score of each candidate is at 154 or higher.
Once an ITA is received, candidates are given 60 days to submit their application and documents for their Canadian permanent residency.
Since January 2022, on average IRCC has been holding draws once every two weeks. Every draw has been specific to PNP candidates. The federal government has yet to hold an Express Entry draw for Federal Skilled Worker candidates or Canadian Experience Class candidates.
They are expected to resume sometime in the near future; however, an exact date has not been provided.
Nearly a month ago, the Immigration Levels Plan 2022-2024 was unveiled reaffirming the government’s commitment to keep prioritizing immigration and increasing the number of newcomers into the country.
The next Express Entry draw will likely be held in two weeks-time.
