The draw resulted in 787 immigration candidates receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Canada.

PNP candidates invited in new Express Entry draw

Over 7,000 immigration candidates have received an invitation from IRCC to date in 2022

A new Express Entry draw was held by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on April 13, 2022.

In total, 787 candidates were invited to apply for their permanent residency.

To qualify for the draw, candidates had to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 782. It’s a fairly high score requirement, but this is because the draw was held for candidates who had previously received a provincial nomination.

Candidates who get a provincial nomination automatically receive 600 additional points on their original CRS score. Meaning, the lowest-scoring candidate had a base score of 182.

This draw resulted in less invitations being issued compared to the previous draw when 919 PNP candidates receiving invitations.

The first quarter of 2022 saw a slow start with only 6,470 invitations being issued. This new draw brings the total number up to 7,257.

As Canada works to meet its immigration targets for 2022, larger draws are expected to be held in the coming months. Draws for candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)  may also resume sometime in the spring.

A date has not yet been confirmed.
